My photographic drive ebbs and flows. Sometimes, taking pictures is my main focus and I see images everywhere. Sometimes, I am struck more by the pointlessness of taking so many photos, and my Lightroom catalogue rarely sees new additions.

August was a lovely month, with time spent in the mountains and by the lakes of the Bernese Oberland, but I didn’t take all that many random photos. (Most of my photos were from days hiking: in Grindelwald and at the Furka Pass.)

I don’t know why I like red hiking laces, but I do
The sad remains of the tongue of the Rhone glacier
