Black-and-white photos on my office wall

We moved into our current home seven years ago. And it’s taken me this long to get around to completely “decorating” my home office. Shocking.

The difficulty of having so many photos in my back catalogue is that it’s very, very difficult to choose a small selection to have on the wall. Add that to the fact that we don’t want our home to look like a photographic gallery, and the choice is limited even further. However, my home office is pretty much my own domain, to which I retreat when there are blog posts to be written, or photos to be edited, or programming to be done when I work from home. This means that I can be a little more free with what goes on the wall, because the images are mainly for my own enjoyment.

The first set of photos in a concerted effort to complete the room are six black-and-white views of some favourite spots. The idea of frames in multiple sizes and multiple formats adds to the higgledy-piggledy nature of the room, and, to a certain extent, our entire home. Never let it be said that there is regularity in the way we have chosen to surround ourselves. The black frames with white card mounts are from IKEA – the most reliable and less expensive option – and mounted with my black and white photos from some of my favourite places.
