Photos from the collection Niesen

The Niesen is a mountain in the Bernese Alps in Switzerland. It stands at the head of a range of mountains separating the Simmental and Kandertal valleys, and its triangular profile is prominently visible from much of the pre-Alpine region. A funicular takes passengers to the summit between Spring and Autumn, and insanely energetic runners race up on the world’s longest staircase every year.
