The landscape around the town I call home has changed over the past week or so, while I’ve been away. Fresh snow on the mountains almost down to the lake, and all of the leaves have gone from the local vineyards.
I love that we get real seasons here, instead of just a varying amount of warmth and cold. Proper winter is on the way, but there is still a little warmth to be had from the sun. There are still a couple of brave lizards to be seen, weighing up their brumation.
The forests on the slopes and cliffs of the Niederhorn are covered in a dusting of fresh snow which looks like the little fake trees which Mum used to put on the Christmas cake every year when I was a kid.
