Up the Aisle

When travelling, I like to see historic things. One of my regular stops is a local church; not for religious reasons, but because churches contain a compact version of the local history. From ruins to cathedrals, from the simple to the ornate, churches follow a very similar layout across the world but yet every one is unique and individual. To show this, I maintain a series of photos from my travels in my Flickr stream of views from the back of the main aisle looking up to the altar. Or, where there is no altar, through the centre of the church. The aisles here are a few of my favourites.
