Whilst out and about with Jo’s parents these past couple of weeks, there has been a distinct sense of waiting in the air. The landscape is resting and gathering it’s strength to turn orange, brown and red as autumn arrives.

Almost every day, without fail by fine weather, this woman walks with her child in a pushchair along the lakeside path opposite my office.
