  • As the previous post for April went down well, I thought I’d work backwards and start adding a few new little galleries of photos to show what I’ve been up to each month. Here’s March 2022 in pictures.

  • When finding a great view, most photographers will raise their camera and take a picture. By finding the best viewpoint, most photos can be improved.

  • The Someiyoshino (Japanese cherry trees) on the hillside below Bern’s Rosengarten park were given as a gift by Yoshiyuki Urata in 1975, after he visited and was very taken with the city. They bloom in early April and the spectacle only lasts a few days, before the blossom falls. I was lucky enough to get time to photograph them…

  • The Rosengarten (Rose Garden) in Bern is high on the hill to the east of the city, with fantastic views across the Aare meander and the lower part of the old city.
