Bowder Stone, Borrowdale

People have been visiting the Bowder Stone for over two hundred years, where there has even been a ladder in place since the 1800s so that even genteel visitors may mount the rock and enjoy the views. The views are much less exciting these days, being masked as they are by the surrounding forest.

We were blessed when we were in the UK this summer, when rain and wind cleared occasionally to give us perfect landscape photography weather. Here, illuminating the Borrowdale Hotel on the shores of Derwentwater in the Lake District.
