Back in 2001 and 2002, I collaborated on a piece of blogging software called b2/cafélog. After the original developer stopped working on the project, it was taken over by Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little and re-released as WordPress in May 2003.
Since then, I’ve been using WordPress for personal and business projects, both as part of my day job and also as a freelancer. In the late 2000s, I began contributing to the community as a plugin developer, and the first WordCamp conference in Zürich in 2014 led me to begin contributing to the Swiss WordPress community. WordPress is currently the most popular content management system in the world, by quite a long way.
