Oberhofen jetty

– Find a nice, dark area with little existing illumination.
– Set the camera on a tripod and open the shutter for a 30 second long exposure, to capture ambient light.
– Run around with a torch like a nutter, shining it onto the subject but keeping the light moving. Use a halogen torch to achieve a staged effect, or a tungsten lamp to blend the illumination in with the surrounding ambient light.
– Try not to let the torch be seen directly by the camera, or you’ll get light streaks like in this photo.
– Post to Flickr and leave to simmer.
