View largerThe drive up the A9 main road from Perth to the north of Scotland is a great experience, although one which demands much patience as progress can be slow. Despite being the main route between northern and southern Scotland, the main road remains a single carriageway for much of its length. Reaching the Drumochter Pass, […]
View largerWe were lucky enough to be at Invergordon on the Cromarty Firth in Scotland when this huge cruise liner was preparing to depart. This time lapse sequence was taken over the course of twenty minutes or so, as the dock hands freed the ship and it headed out along the firth to the North Sea.
View largerOn our way back to Edinburgh from Angus, we stopped off at Kinross to see the impressive expanse of Loch Leven, frozen and covered with snow. View this photo larger at Permanent Tourist. For those who may not have visited the UK before and who are interested in the light; much of the U.K. is […]

View largerWe took a diversion off the motorway to explore the wintry countryside and came across this village, buried in snow. Read more and see the rest of my photos from the village at Permanent Tourist.
View largerJo and I visited many motorway service stations during our trip to the UK, but this was my favourite, amongst the frozen, icy, rolling hills of the south of Scotland.
View largerAlthough this looks remote, it is in fact right next to the motorway services on the A74(M).

View largerOur intended destination on Christmas Eve, after driving up from Hampshire en route to Dundee. As the roads were clear, we took just a short break here and carried on.
View largerJo shows me how she makes me feel. Photo from St. Andrews, Scotland, when we visited last autumn. Happy Valentine’s, baby x
View largerThis was on my first trip to the western coast of Scotland, en route to the Isle of Skye. The white sand and brilliant turquoise sea still amazes me and I hope to return there soon, to be able to take more photographs of the amazing and unexpected landscape views.
View largerI thought you might like to see my 2009 photographic calendar. The calendar, which I am publishing through the Lulu website, costs €28 plus postage and is printed at 34.29 cm x 48.25 cm, with coil binding, white interior paper (100gsm weight) and full-colour interior ink. It contains photos I’ve taken over the past couple […]

For those lucky enough to have two screens, the images will match up to provide a panoramic image across both screens. Let me know if you’ve used this and how […]

View largerJo’s parents found baby hedgehogs in their garden for three Fridays in a row during September this year. The animals were late babies – too small to survive the winter – so Jo’s father Roy drove the 20-odd miles to take them to the Wormit Hedgehog Care Centre, across the River Tay from Dundee. Jo […]
View largerGorgeous stormy light, the original image captured for a stitched 30 Mpx. file. If only the right-hand side were sharp, I’d probably have this printed poster-size to go on our wall at home.
View largerOne year on from our wedding and wonderful reception at South Queensferry across the river.
View larger…with Jo waiting patiently in the warmth of the car for me to finish photographing the landscape.
