Interlaken Golf Course, Neuhaus

I took a walk up through the woods from Heimwehfluh, near Interlaken, last weekend. The top of the walk, after half an hour or so of wheezing and muscle aching, was high above that end of Lake Thun. Aside from enjoying the walk, having some exercise and enjoying the view, I also discovered that the […]

Neuhaus and the Dreigestirn from Beatenberg

"Dreigestirn", literally translated, means three stars. This is a name often accorded locally to the famous three mountain peaks at the centre of the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland: the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

Wooden glow

Another lesson in the power of natural light; in this case, reflected from the sunlit gravel path.

River Aare at Unterseen

Just a quickie from last weekend’s wander through Interlaken. I’m swamped with work and stuff for this Sunday’s Strobist meetup in Bern, so I’ll probably be quiet until next week.

Brienzersee at Bönigen, Switzerland

It’s been a very busy time since we returned from Scotland, which has meant that there hasn’t been much time for photography. I had to work late last night, leading me to driving home with a company car, which allowed me to drive along the fast road between Interlaken and Brienz early this morning on […]

Torrential rain has hit Switzerland in the worst storms since the heavy flooding experienced two years ago. Sirens sounded the alarm in several parts of the country on Wednesday evening and more than 100 people were evacuated from their homes as rivers and lakes came close to bursting their banks. […] In canton Bern, the […]

Heavy, violent storms are sweeping across central Switzerland in the evenings at the moment, with the worst one (last night) bringing lumps of hail the size of chicken eggs. The hail was falling so heavily and lying so thick on the streets, that it was still around this morning in Interlaken, where the damage was […]
