Coastal rocks on the Isle of Skye

After around 2,300 kilometres of driving, a well-earned rest stop with family by the sea.

After the days-long but familiar journey from home to the Isle of Skye for our autumn holiday last year, we got to spend time by the coast, at last. The coast is my favourite landscape and so it was great to be able to watch the sun making its way across the horizon, to stand on headlands and look along the ribbons of headland and cove, to poke around in rock pools, to find fossils and sea creatures, and to begin sinking into a peaceful and relaxing part of the holiday with family.
