Choosing where to go for a walk at the weekend is increasingly leading me to easier routes. Instead of gathering my energy and trying to find a path which needs more of an effort, winter walks in particular end up being in places which are more interesting, rather than more challenging. We headed up into the mountain village of Kandersteg in January, parked up a little way from the centre, and walked a gentle but really picturesque route up to the Oeschinensee cable-car station and then around through the village before returning to the car.
