This is an old project, which I was reminded of the other day by a link to a similar page layout. Funky Kitchen Club was a t.v. cooking show in Switzerland, which launched in 2008 and starred Interlaken personality René Schudel. The programme was produced by my former employer Gossweiler Media in collaboration with Swiss channel Pro Sieben and I was involved in the pre- and post-launch work.

As a special change to my usual days in the office, I got the chance to tag along on a couple of filming days to photograph “behind the scenes”: on Männlichen (with a free helicopter ride) and in René’s restaurant in Unterseen.

As well as accompanying the film crew, I also programmed the original version of the website, based on a design by the creative director. It featured an unusual mix of cut-out graphics, as well as a slideshow gallery and video player. (The players using Adobe Flash and Adobe Fireworks’ image-slicing technology to convert the layout into a clickable image map.)

The current website isn’t the original version, as it was extended and slightly modified during the four seasons of the show until 2012. But the layout, look and feel remains much the same as it did when I programmed it using the CMS I helped develop whilst working in Brienz.
