After a decade enjoying the BBC t.v. series Coast and a gradual migration into watching Countryfile as I reach middle-age, I’m greatly looking forward to seeing the new series Secret Britain, which begins tonight on BBC One and BBC One HD.

Media reports (for example in the Guardian newspaper) indicate that the new series will be seeking out lesser known places of interest across the UK, rather than the usual tourist hotspots. As this is a hobby of mine here in Switzerland, and because it’s always good to see exploration of the British countryside when we can’t get there more than a couple of times per year, I’ll be sure to set the t.v. box to record the series. In particular because some of the production team of Coast works on the new series.

The programme is on at 9 p.m. (10 p.m. in central Europe) this evening, and subsequently on BBC iPlayer.
