The Steingletscher glacial valley, not far from the summit of the Susten Pass, is one of my favourite places in Switzerland. Huge mountains, an uncommon amount of wildlife in a country where hunting is a treasured past-time, several glaciers and the thrill of the winding mountain road to get there. It’s long been a goal to park at the alpine centre and walk the six kilometre round-trip to the main glacier which gives the area its name. Jo and I did just that this past weekend, with friends.
