PocketWizard Mini TT1 and Fujifilm X100

In preparation for this weekend’s portrait meetup, I did a little research on using my PocketWizard Mini TT1 and Flex TT5 to take photos with my Fujifilm X100 and Nikon SB-900. I didn’t expect the setup to allow TTL flash, and I was correct: this isn’t possible. It is, however, possible to use the PocketWizard in Basic Trigger Mode to simply send a signal between the Mini TT1 and Flex TT5. Simply connect the TT1 to your computer and set it to Basic Trigger Mode using the PocketWizard Utility and away you go! This naturally means that you’ll have to set the flash exposure manually, but that shouldn’t be a problem if you’ve followed David Hobby’s (freshly updated) Lighting 101 documentation/course.

More details on how to set up your PocketWizard gear are on the PocketWizard website.
