I first began using the Blurb self publishing service in 2006, when I first started working on the Swiss Peeks series with friends and colleagues from the Flickr photo sharing website. Through the experience I gained there, and useful tips and feedback from my erstwhile work colleagues, I went on to produce all four books in the series, as well as three personal books: for the photos from my wedding, the set of photos I took on our travels to and from our wedding, and a review of my time spent working in Brienz.

Ever since, I’ve had the idea of producing more books through the service, thanks mainly to the comparative ease of use of the BookSmart software and the combination of the affordable pricing and high quality. After all this time, I’ve finally been inspired to use the integration of a Blurb book preparation section in the latest version of Adobe Lightroom to complete my first non-personal book, featuring photos of the Fire Parade in Liestal.

The book is now available to preview (in full) and order via the Blurb website. I’d love to hear any feedback you have on the book or the photos; if you live near me, I will have my own copy in a couple of weeks which I’ll be happy to show around.
