Habi and Nina in the studio

One of the reasons I organize photographic meet-up days is so that I can learn new techniques, use equipment that I might not have encountered before, and try to challenge myself using a range of different lighting techniques to produce a variety of shots. During a day in the studio in December last year, Habi and his girlfriend Nina stood as models for me while I tried out studio lighting equipment which I’d first got to grips with earlier in the year, along with a few fellow photographers from the Swiss Strobist group. I most enjoyed experimenting with a studio flash in the style of a “fresnel lantern“, creating the highly focused spotlight effect seen in the main photo above.

The effect is stunning, but also all the other photos from this day are gorgeous. Thank you very much for these very nice images!
