As a British person abroad, there are several aspects of Swiss culture which take a little getting used to. One of them is the way in which it’s customary to make eye contact when chinking glasses and wishing “good health”, which can be a little overwhelming when you’re not expecting it and a whole room full of people do it to you.

Maybe it’s just the people I know; looking someone in the eye over there isn’t “done” in my experience!
