Jo and I were determined to get out of the house this weekend and on seeing that the weather forecast was for rain tomorrow, we set aside today for a walk. Of course, as these things go, today was as grey as old socks and wet in a somehow very English way; we didn’t recognize that it was raining, but by the time we got to where we were going, we had damp jackets.

Still, the walk along the lake to Faulensee was great and full of laughter and planning for holidays next year. The walk was a stage longer than usual, as we headed on to the marina for a bowl of chips and a hot chocolate at the Möve restaurant, which we’ve passed on countless occasions by car and train but at which we’ve never stopped. The walk back burned off the calories of the chips and we’re now home, with damp hair and burning leg muscles.
