Plans are progressing faster and faster, as we get more and more tasks finished in advance of leaving for our trip to Scotland at the weekend. I’ve installed and configured the newest software behind this journal (version 2.3 of WordPress) which was released today, allowing me to post directly to the internet via email. I’ve contacted my mobile phone provider to allow a much better rate for monthly internet access, I’ve spoken with a U.K. mobile phone service provider to talk about GPRS internet access while we’re on the road, and I’ve backed up all the masses of electronic data which has accumulated over the past few weeks, mainly whilst preparing the stationery for our wedding. All that remains is to collate the piles of things to take with us – from clothes and passports to phone and camera chargers – and pack them as neatly and efficiently as we can. Then, I collect the rental car on Friday evening, load up on Saturday morning and head north for our first stop in Reims, midway through France.
