I’ve always loved scenes like this, where there are an infinite number of tiny details to see in every last corner of the picture. This 16 megapixel image is a crop of a 30 megapixel image, which sadly can’t be fully stitched due to gremlins which affected the camera when I was taking the view.

This is Zürich city, shot from Uetliberg at dusk on Saturday. Despite the relatively low image quality – caused by camera shake in the strong breezes on top of the viewing platform – and the JPEG artifacting, the detail in this 6.4 Mb image is fascinating.

Whether looking to the distant hills, following the snaking train lines, or seeing a car braking for a tiny junction, expect to be lost in the detail of the city for some time.
