    Timelapse – hike to Bachalp

    Landscape photography, Video | 2nd August 2010

As if the photographic splendour of the mountain hike from the Firstbahn cablecar station above Grindelwald wasn’t enough, I used the rest breaks we took on our hike this last Sunday to shoot a handful of timelapse sequences of the clouds, other hikers, and wind currents playing across the famed Bachalpsee. These were the first sequences I shot using an intervalometer: instead of holding down the shutter release button (as detailed in my previous blog post, which caused a slight wobble throughout the sequence), the attachment of my new Nikos digital timer to my D80 meant that the results are now getting closer to the quality I hoped for. To see the sequence in high definition – it’s worth it – view the video on its own page at Vimeo.
