Friends and Family, Portraiture | 10th February 2010

It’s been a while since I’ve been in the studio and taken high contrast black and white portraits, so Jo helped me this evening to practice. The aim was to produce portraits in the stark, simple way which Richard Avedon mastered, focusing entirely on the sitter without any other distracting elements in the picture, harking back strongly (for me) to studio portraits from the 1960s.

Would you like to have your portrait taken in this style?

Send me an email and we’ll arrange a shoot!
