Individual photographs, Landscape photography | 11th January 2008

It’s been a very busy time since we returned from Scotland, which has meant that there hasn’t been much time for photography. I had to work late last night, forcing me to drive home with a company car and allowing me to drive along the fast road between Interlaken and Brienz early this morning on my way back.

I’ve been meaning to take this shot for years, but it’s a tricky one. Finding a tiny emergency breakdown layby, crossing a busy, fast three lane road, standing on the hard shoulder at the edge of a flyover bridge as traffic thunders past, and away before the police turn up. I was on the road early enough this morning that there was no traffic worth mentioning, so I took my chance. This image – at full size, a stitched 24 Mpx photograph – is the result, and I’m chuffed.
